My Story
I am an ordinary immigrant like you, came as an international student with big dreams to pursue engineering. When I decided to come to Canada, I wasn't sure about the outcome or if I would succeed.
I landed a part-time job within a month of arriving in Canada. However, balancing studies, assignments, a part-time job, and daily household chores were incredibly challenging. Despite the difficulties, I managed to complete my two-year college program, secure a job as an Electrical Technologist, and obtain permanent residency (PR). it might seem like I've achieved success.
However, I'm driven to pursue something unique and impactful, especially for fellow immigrants. Finance happens to be one of my strengths, yet I've noticed how challenging it can be for newcomers to grasp a completely unfamiliar financial system in a new country.
My interest in personal finance sparked after watching Ankur Warikoo's video, where I realized that financial literacy is key to securing my future, regardless of My Income Level.
Our emphasis is on cultivating strong financial habits that can pave the way to wealth accumulation, even with a modest income. Simultaneously, investing in personal growth enables you to earn more, accelerating your journey towards financial freedom.
This newfound knowledge inspired me to create my finance content tailored for immigrants, filling a gap in quality content in this niche.
Platforms like YouTube, LinkedIn, and online courses became my go-to sources for gaining insights into the financial world.
It's been 3 years since I made my first stock investment. Through trial and error, I learned valuable lessons about money management, despite initial losses.
This experience helped me save an amount equivalent to one year of my income, build a 5 figure portfolio with a 19% return last year, and generate $712/year in dividends.
In 2024, my primary goal is to delve deeper into the real estate market and acquire real estate for personal investment.
